Three Twins Chocolate Malt Ice Cream Review

Three Twins Chocolate Malt Review
I had a free coupon for a pint of Three Twins ice cream and faced with the tough decision of what flavor to choose, chocolate malt popped right out at me. I just recently started to like malt products and so I was excited to see that Three Twins had a malt flavor.
Getting into this ice cream I immediately noticed that the texture was different. Not bad different just a little bit more airy and almost icy, it may have had something to do with the fact that it was almost 100 degrees on the way bringing it home and it had melted a bit before I got it into my freezer at home but anyways the texture was not bad by any means just different than usual from Three Twins. The flavor was good though, the malt was present but if you don't like malt it wasn't overbearing or too much. I think my sister summed it up about right when she said that it tastes like a simple chocolate milkshake.

Ben and Jerry's The Tonight Dough Review

The Tonight Dough Review
For my second ice cream review I had to go with Ben and Jerry's. It's one of my favorite ice cream brands out there and when I saw Jimmy Fallon on the pint it sealed the deal. Jimmy Fallon is hilarious,  and as I ate this ice cream I heard him singing Whip My Hair in the voice of Neil Young, but anyway this ice cream is described as Caramel & Chocolate Ice Creams with Chocolate Cookie Swirls & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough & Peanut Butter Cookie Dough.
As I got into this pint the chocolate ice cream immediately hit me, it was the typical Ben and Jerrys chocolate ice cream, not too dark and not too milky, a good quality premium chocolate ice cream which I like, and then the peanut butter cookie dough chunks come in, there are plenty of them as is typical for B&J's and they are great! Good peanut butter taste and chewy cookie dough texture, they are fat chunks and are a good compliment to the fairly strong chocolate ice cream. Although the two dominant parts of this pint are the chocolate ice cream and the peanut butter cookie dough chunks, the other parts are certainly present and tasty, the chocolate cookie swirls have a great gritty texture and the chcolate chip cookie dough is nice as well, the only thing I didn't taste was the caramel ice cream, it had the same impact as a vanilla ice cream would have, despite that this was a great pint. It showcased what Ben and Jerrys does best, big mix-ins and cookie dough chunks. The only criticism I have is that there were so many aspects to this pint that not every one of them could be fully appreciated, but even so it was a great tasting ice cream and in the end that's all that really matters.

Key Lime Pie Oreo Review

Key Lime Pie Oreo Review
I know I'm aiming for ice cream reviews on this site, but I saw these new Key Lime Pie Oreos at my local H-E-B, a Texas store chain, yesterday and I had to write up a short review. I'm a huge fan of anything Oreo and I've been loving their most recent limited edition flavors like smores and cotton candy, and I had to try this new variety. Right when I opened the package I smelled key lime pie, it smelled like the traditional graham crust key lime pie and it got me pysched to try one. As I bit into the cookie the taste pretty much matched the smell, the cookie was perfectly crunchy, it could have had more of a graham flavor which was the same complaint I had with the smores Oreo but it was not bad by any means just me being picky. The lime flavor was definitely present and there was a good balance between the cookie and the lime. As I ate I noticed that there seemed to be more cream in the cookie, almost like a double stuf, but the box doesn't mention anything about that, anyways it was overall a really good Oreo, if you love key lime pie, I would definitely recommend these.

Blue Bunny Super Chunky Cookie Dough Review

Blue Bunny Super Chunky Cookie Dough Ice Cream

My first review. I decided to go with something pretty simple, Blue Bunny's Super Chunky Cookie Dough Ice Cream. This ice cream is described as cookie dough ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough chunks, a cookie dough batter ribbon and chocolate flakes. I  picked this one up at Walmart, for $3.50 for an almost half-gallon container. I was in the mood for something classic, but maybe a little more exciting than just the typical cookie dough ice cream. I just figured out about half a year ago that Ben and Jerry's actually created cookie dough ice cream which is really surprising but anyways let's get into the review.

First impression of the base was a very light, and sweet flavor. It really reminded of just eating straight Cool Whip from the container right out of the freezer, with that really light texture and creaminess and a general sweetness. The chocolate "flakes" enhanced the creamy base and added a nice touch, there were just enough for me.
The cookie dough chunks were a good size and appeared frequently throughout the pint, their flavor immediately reminded me of the cookie dough in a Dairy Queen blizzard or Sonic Blast, just a good pretty authentic tasting cookie dough. And lastly I almost forgot about the cookie dough swirl because it was barely present throughout the pint, that ended up being a blessing though I did not enjoy it at all. It was very syrupy and had a bad caramel taste. Hard to describe but just a bad flavor . Overall this was a solid classic that I would buy again if I was in the mood for a non -premium cookie dough ice cream.

Welcome

Hello, welcome to imtiredofsaltedcaramel.com, if you found your way here you're probably in a deep internet coma, having gone past the first page of results on google to find my little blog . Anyway this blog will be devoted to ice cream reviews. Ice creams of any price, flavor, or style. I plan to review old school flavors such as Cookie Dough and Neopolitan and to cover new fancy flavors such as Peanut Butter Sriracha(if that's not a thing now it's surely going to be in the future). I love ice cream and I decided to share my opinions with anyone who makes it onto this blog. I hope you enjoy, and feel free to comment review requests.
